The least manipulated of the American Spirits series this image has evolved over the past few years. The totem and the beach are the original image, taken on a trip to San Francisco. Many totems look out from the beach to the ocean; this one looks back to the beach and the city beyond. Meanwhile the ghost of Mr. Magoo levitates one of the homeless from the beach.
