Santiago Harbour from Castillo Morro
Castillo de San Pedro del Morro sits on a high point at the mouth of Santiago's harbour. An imposing structure it commands an incredible view both along the coast and into the harbour. El Morro, originally begun in 1633, had to be rebuilt in 1664 after the English pirate Henry Morgan flattened it. Across the water the tip of Cayo Granma can be seen, a small pedestrian-only island. |
