Beachs, totems... the west coast of North America features many of both. Although I don't know if this is a fine example of a totem. Reminds me of the roadside Garbage Gobblers we had in BC in the 1950s. Nice beach though. Ocean Beach as seen from the Cliff House, San Francisco, California.
