Habana Vieja (Old Havana), where classic American cars rumble down cobblestone streets past crumbling colonial buildings. Despite all the tourists thronging the main streets it is still possible to wander off down side streets discovering time-warping scenes. Many buildings are beyond repair but crews salvage as many structures as economically possible. Even buildings which look dilapitated on the outside often house beautifully kept interiors. One could spend weeks wandering the maze of streets in Habana Vieja, gazing at the fascinating architecture and the lively flow of life.
