Santiago de Cuba , Cuba - 35mm film - 2001

We hired a car and driver to take us out along the coast west of Santiago. The car, a '59 Plymouth, only broke down once, neccessitating a welding job in the village of Ocujal. Under the hood looked spotless with all stock parts except for two Russian made electrical parts. The coast reminded me of the California coast north of San Francisco, rolling grasslands meeting the surf. We passed little traffic; here a typical passenger-carrying truck passies us.
